今日接近中午時分，民主黨立法會議員劉慧卿及何俊仁、民主黨前立法會議員楊森、工黨立法會議員張超雄、真普聯召集人鄭宇碩及多名市民，因協助運送音響器材進入政府總部門外集會而被警方拘捕。

民主黨批評警方做法侵犯市民的言論及集會自由，對於警方無理拘捕上述人士表示極度遺憾，予以強烈譴責。民主黨要求警方立即釋放所有被捕人士。

民主黨要求立即撤回8月31日「人大常委會就香港政改的決定」，及馬上重新啟動政改諮詢。民主黨會繼續全力支持「和平佔中」行動，與香港市民一起並肩作戰，爭取真普選！我們呼籲香港市民全力參與和平的公民抗命運動。

At close to noon today, the Democratic Party Legislative Councillors Emily Lau and Albert Ho, former Democratic Party Legislative Councillor Yeung Sum, Labor Party Legislative Councillor Fernando Cheung, Convener of the Alliance for True Democracy Joseph Cheng and several citizen were arrested while they facilitated the delivery of audio equipment into the assembly outside CGO.

The Democratic Party criticizes the police for violating freedom of speech and freedom of assembly. We condemn the unreasonable arrest of these people. The Democratic Party demand the police to immediately release all the arrested persons.

The Democratic Party calls for the immediate withdrawal of the NPCSC’s decision on the framework for Hong Kong’s political reform, and immediately restart the 5 steps political reform process. The Democratic Party will continue to support the Occupy Central Movement and fight for genuine universal suffrage together with the Hong Kong people. We urge Hong Kong citizen to join our peaceful protest and civil disobedient movement.
