民主黨中委會於8月22日就立法會議員何俊仁及涂謹申接受國泰款
On 22 August the Democratic Party Central Committee discussed the matter of Albert Ho and James To receiving hospitality from Cathay Pacific Airways and concluded the two legislators have violated the party’s “Guidelines on receiving benefits and privileges for Central Committee members and Councillors." The guidelines were amended in April last year and were approved by the Central Committee on 19 April 2012. According to the guidelines, members should avoid receiving hospitality which could be deemed as overly generous. The Central Committee decided it was inappropriate for the two legislators to accept Cathay Pacific's overly generous hospitality. The matter will be followed up by the party’s Executive Committee when it meets on 5 Sept. The Democratic Party chairperson Emily Lau apologized to the public for the two legislators' inappropriate behaviour. She will also request the Legislative Council to review the guidelines on Legislative Councillors receiving interest and hospitality to see if they need to be tightened up.
